Deputy Chief Miller

Paul Miller is second in command of the Miami Gardens Police Department, as the Deputy Chief of Police.  Deputy Chief Miller directly oversees the day-to-day operations of the agency’s three divisions, and serves as the acting chief during the absence of Chief Boyd.  Prior to his joining the Miami Gardens Police Department, Deputy Chief Miller served with the Miami-Dade Police Department.  During his 19 year tenure with the MDPD, he held various positions which included assignments in Homicide, Auto Theft, Narcotics, Public Corruption, and the Crime Suppression Units.

Deputy Chief Miller joined the MGPD as Major of the Criminal Investigations Division in December 2006, as part of the initial transition team.  Shortly after the Department’s go-live date in December, 2007, he was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief, and has been instrumental in the multi-faceted and ongoing development of the Department.  As one of the original employees of the newly created Police Department, Deputy Chief Miller’s experience, diverse law enforcement background and administrative skills, have been vital in the facilitation of the transfer of services from the Miami-Dade Police Department to the Miami Gardens Police Department.  Deputy Chief Miller has played a major role in the facilitation of the Department’s Headquarters building.  He has had a role in virtually all the facets of the Department and is credited by the Chief as a significant contributor to our immediate success.
